This is a real Versailles near Moscow, with a regular park, an estate, a temple-tomb, a beautiful view of the Moscow River. And there is also a museum with unique collections of paintings of the 17th - 19th centuries, engravings, sculptures and arts and crafts. The museum houses one of the largest collections of rare books in Russia - about 16,000 volumes.
How to get there: 1. From the station. m. "Tushinskaya" by bus 541, 549 or minibus 151, 541, 549. 2. From the Riga station by train to the station Pavshino (Rizhskoye direction), then by bus 524 to the stop "Sanatorium". 3. A beautiful estate with majestic colonnades and outbuildings is located on the shore of a wonderful picturesque lake. At one time, Alexander Pushkin gave her the name "Russian Parnassus": here in the 19th century Dmitriev and Griboedov, Baratynsky and Zhukovsky, Kuchelbeker, Pushkin, Davydov and Gogol and many other representatives of the "mental eminent" gathered as guests. Currently, the museum "Russian Parnassus" operates here. The estate currently stores such relics as Pushkin's vest and glove, birch bark, near which the poet stood during the duel, Abraham Hannibal's cane, Pushkin's oak desk.

3. For connoisseurs of the abandoned - Grebnevo
An extensive architectural and park ensemble, which has been given the status of a historical and architectural monument of federal significance. The history of the manor has been known since the end of the 16th century. The estate was built on a grand scale! 8 stone buildings were erected here, most of which were built in the Gothic style, and a summer temple of the Grebnevskaya Mother of God was built behind the estate. In 1991, the building was destroyed by a terrible fire; since then it has been empty. Now the former palace threatens to finally turn into ruins, but its beauty and scope are impressive to this day. The landscape in this place is amazing.
How to get there: along the Shchelkovo highway, turn to Shchelkovo, then through the whole city to Fryazino. Having passed Fryazino, immediately after the bridge over the Lyubaseevka River, turn right at the sign "Grebnevskaya Church", then through the village. By bus: metro Schelkovskaya, then bus 361 to Fryazino, then bus 23, taxi 20.
4. For lovers of Soviet history - Leninskiye Gorki
Here, in the protected area, there is a unique complex of archaeological, architectural and historical monuments: the remains of a relict forest, a barrow group of the 10th-11th centuries; adits of ancient quarries and, finally, the manor and park ensemble "Gorki" (XIX-XX centuries), whose history begins in the XVI century. Gorki was owned by representatives of ancient Russian noble and princely families, and after the October Revolution, the estate turned into the residence of V.I. Lenin, where the first Soviet leader lived and worked for about two years. Now there is a monumental building of the museum of V.I. Lenin, built in 1987. According to the exhibits of the museum, one can trace the political history of Russia and the activities of the first head of the Soviet state. In addition, the estate has a museum of peasant life, created in 1982 and acquainting visitors with the peculiarities of the life of the peasants of the Moscow region in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

5. For quiet walks in nature - Serednikovo
A recognized example of landscape gardening and manor architecture of the 18th century, keeping in its ensemble four eras of the heyday of Russian classicism, the golden age of Russian estates. It is famous, not least, for the fact that the great poet Mikhail Lermontov spent his summer holidays here in his youth. Today the estate has a vast, well-groomed and - what a pleasure! - a very sparse area. The special charm of Serednikovo is in the old English park with its age-old trees and deserted (if you wander away from the central alleys) paths. Nearby is a small lake, on the shore of which you can have a romantic picnic.
How to get there: travel from the Leningradsky railway station by train to the station. Firsanovka, further author. 6. The most comfortable - Melikhovo
One of the most comfortable estates in the Moscow region and, perhaps, the main Chekhov's place in Russia. The best years of Anton Pavlovich passed here, and it was in Melikhovo that he wrote his famous plays "The Seagull", "Uncle Vanya", the stories "Ionych", "Ward No. 6", "The Man in the Case" - more than forty works in total. Today, the rooms in the main house look the same as under Chekhov. In addition, photographs of the writer are stored here, as well as books, manuscripts and personal belongings that belonged to him. Also on the territory of the estate there is a garden, a kitchen garden, a pond "Aquarium", on the banks of which Chekhov liked to sit with a fishing rod, an artificial hill, an outbuilding-kitchen with peasant household items of the 19th century. There is no large park in Melikhovo where you can get lost for a couple of hours, but it is really cozy here. By the way, theater performances and lectures are regularly held in the estate.

7. The most unusual - Bykovo
Bykovo is a very beautiful and well-known manor in the past, built by the favorite of Catherine II, the Moscow Governor-General Izmailov. All buildings are designed in the style of Masonic architecture, to which Mikhail Izmailov himself belonged. In the overgrown park there is a large palace in the style of English castles, and on the outskirts of the park rises a pseudo-Gothic two-story church built by Vasily Bazhenov. The place is quite neglected and not well maintained, but this only adds to its special charm.
How to get there: from Kazansky railway station to Udelnaya station. Then take buses 23 or 39 to the stop "Temple". Or from metro station Vykhino by bus 424 to the stop "Temple".
8. For connoisseurs of Russian nature - Abramtsevo
In this modest estate near Moscow, at the end of the 19th century, Russian artists lived, whose paintings are now masterpieces of the Tretyakov Gallery: Vrubel, Vasnetsov, Surikov. And the most picturesque, primordially Russian landscapes around perfectly explain their choice. Bypassing the wooden bridge, thickets of raspberries, passing along the ravine, then across the river Voryu, in about twenty minutes you will find yourself opposite the entrance to the estate. And, although both the park and the estate are clearly in need of restoration, this place retains an amazing sense of authenticity, and you don’t have to strain yourself to imagine a cheerful and reckless fraternity of artists.
How to get there: by train from the Yaroslavl railway station, following to Sergiev Posad or Aleksandrov; from st. m. "VDNH" by bus number 388; by car along the Yaroslavl highway: before reaching Sergiev Posad, turn towards Leshkovo and Radonezh, then to Khotkovo, turn towards Abramtsevo.
9. The most romantic - Marfino
This estate near Moscow is familiar to many from photographs and even drawings on postage stamps. The main manor house in "Marfino" is not even a house in the generally accepted style, but a real neo-Gothic castle on the shore of a pond! A wide staircase leads from the castle to the water, which ends with a pier with fountains and winged griffins. On the famous staircase of the estate, the scenes of Satan's ball for the film "The Master and Margarita" by Yuri Kara were filmed. Currently, the estate houses the "Marfinsky Central Military Clinical Sanatorium", the "kennels" are equipped with a casino and the "House of Life", the Peter and Paul Church functions. It is very difficult to get to the estate - for this you need to order a pass. Otherwise, you can see it from the opposite side of the manor pond.
How to get there: By train from Savelovsky railway station to the station "Katuar" (journey time 50 minutes), then by bus number 37. By car along Dmitrovskoe highway - at 39 km there will be a turn with a sign for "Marfino", after the turn there is about 3 more -x km.
