1 March 2021

The publication estimates her fortune at $10.1 billion.

Forbes Woman compiled the first rating of self-made women in Russia - it replaced the rating of the richest women. The updated list includes three categories: women who have achieved success on their own, are involved in the family business, but did not inherit it, or do business with partners.

The first line of the new rating is occupied by the founder of the Wildberries online store Tatyana Bakalchuk - the publication estimates her fortune at $ 10.1 billion. Bakalchuk is the only participant in the rating with a capital of more than $ 1 billion. Forbes notes that she could enter the list of the richest self-made women in the world.

The second place in the Forbes rating is occupied by a private investor Olga Belyavtseva, the publication estimates her fortune at $550 million. She started as a packer at the Lebedyansky juice producer, rose to an economist, and then became a shareholder of the company. Belyavtseva has a stake in the Progress company, which produces baby food under the Fruto Nyanya brand, in Agronom Sad and the manufacturer of polymer products Biplast.

On the third line of the rating is Tatyana Kuznetsova, Deputy Chairman of the Board of PJSC Novatek, with a fortune of $475 million, she owns 2.75% of the company's shares. The top five richest self-made women include Natalia Opaleva, a member of the board of directors of the Vysochaishy mining company ($450 million) and Guzelia Safina, deputy head of the TAIF petrochemical holding, ($300 million).

Forbes evaluates the wealth of participants based on data about their assets, such as company stocks and real estate. The publication evaluates public companies by market capitalization, and closed ones - based on data on sales volumes, profits, equity capital.

The publication also evaluates the "independence rating" of the participants - Bakalchuk and Belyavtseva received A, they are ahead of private investor Maria Sharapova ($200 million), founder of Evalar Larisa Prokopyeva ($175 million), co-owner of Mavis Tatiana Fraus ($125 million) with an A + rating , private investor Larisa Cherepanova ($75 million).
