Mishustin announced the postponement of the introduction of new inspection rules
The new procedure for the technical inspection of cars in Russia will come into force on October 1, 2021, and not on March 1, as previously expected, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during a government meeting. He asked that the relevant draft resolution be provided to him for signature in the near future.
“As in any business, at the initial stage, various kinds of overlays are inevitable. For example, uneven load distribution, queues. In conditions when the situation with coronavirus, although improving, is still far from ideal, this carries certain risks, including for human health. I think we should not allow this, ”the head of government explained this decision.
At the same time, he stressed, addressing ministries and departments, that from October 1, the system should work without failures. Mishustin recalled that the new rules involve the introduction of electronic diagnostic cards for cars, photo fixation and the launch of other procedures that affect the work of the core business.
The introduction of a unified automated inspection system was approved by Mishustin in August 2020. The document obliges operators conducting vehicle inspections to carry out its mandatory photo fixation, as well as issue diagnostic cards in electronic form with a digital signature. Such measures, according to the developers of the bill, will stop the issuance of fake diagnostic cards and reduce the number of accidents.
