Sales of the brand new Kia Carnival have started at the official dealerships of the Kia brand in the Russian Federation.
The fourth generation of Kia Carnival was a significant step in the history of this model, allowing us to talk about a new class of car - a cross van that combines the best qualities of the MPV segment, crossovers and business class cars.
In Russia, the new Kia Carnival will be available in five trim levels - Comfort, Luxe, Prestige, Premium, Premium + and eight engine and configuration combinations. The Premium + package provides only a seven-seat interior layout - with two separate Premium Relaxation seats on the second row. In other trim levels, Carnival has an eight-seat layout - with three separate second-row seats, which can be installed both in the direction of travel and against the direction of travel.
There are two options for high-performance engines of the Smartstream line for the cross-van on the Russian market. The 2.2 liter diesel engine is available in all trim levels and has a maximum output of 199 hp. with., and a torque of 440 N • m in the range from 1,750 to 2,750 revolutions. The 3.5-litre V6 petrol with MPI multiport injection is available in Prestige, Premium and Premium+ trim levels and has a maximum output of 249 hp. with., and its torque is 331.5 N•m. Both engine options are aggregated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. In all versions, the Kia Carnival crossover has front axle drive. High ground clearance of 182 mm allows you to use the cross-country vehicle both in the city and in nature.
Standard on the Kia Carnival are reflector LED headlights and LED daytime running lights, Kia's signature VSM Integrated Active Management System, Hill Start Assist (HAC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and Drive Mode Select. The car is equipped with seven airbags - two front, driver's knee airbag, two side and curtain airbags along the entire length of the passenger compartment. The second and third row seats are equipped with ISOFIX child seat anchorages. As with all new Kia cars for the Russian market, the equipment of the ERA-GLONASS emergency communication system is standardly installed on Carnival.
Also, in all trim levels, an electric parking brake control is provided.
Standard comfort options include cruise control, a Bluetooth module for connecting mobile devices, USB charging connectors in the front panel and on the side of the front seat backs (for second-row passengers), and a 12-volt outlet in the luggage compartment. The steering column is by default adjustable in height and reach, the second row seats - in the longitudinal direction. The third row seats can be folded in a 60/40 ratio or completely into a specially provided for this compartment in the floor. Crossvan is equipped with a spare wheel for temporary use on a steel rim.
Carnival's basic Kia branded package for the Russian market "Warm Options" includes heated front seats and windshield washer jets, electric windshield heating, and heated side mirrors.
The most affordable Comfort package is offered at a price of 2,599,900 rubles. In it, 17-inch wheels on light alloy wheels with 235 / 65R17 tires are installed on the car. The interior trim is made of fabric, the insert on the front panel is framed “under the metal” (Metal paint), there are air conditioners for the driver and front passenger, as well as a separate air conditioner for second and third row passengers. In this configuration, the Carnival is equipped with a Supervision dashboard with a central 4.2" TFT display, a rear view camera and rear parking sensors, a multimedia system with an 8" screen, access to Apple Carplay / Android Auto. For Kia Carnival in Russia, there is a choice of seven body colors: White Snow White Pearl and black Aurora Black Pearl (both with pearl effect), Silver Silky Silver, dark gray Panthera Metal, red Flare Red and two shades of blue - Deep Chroma Blue and Astra Blue.
Crossvans in the Luxe configuration look different from Comfort in the presence of roof rails. Changes in the interior are also noticeable: the steering wheel has a leather trim, and the front panel inserts are decorated with a wood texture. This configuration expands the list of safety and comfort options. The Warm Options package is complemented by a heated steering wheel. The vehicle is also equipped with front parking sensors, BCW Blind Spot Monitor, RCCW Side Collision Warning when reversing out of a parking space, and SEW Safe Exit System (only works in warning mode in this configuration). A climate control system is installed - separately for the driver and front passenger, as well as a separate climate control system for passengers in the second and third rows. The front and rear power windows have an Auto function. A 220V power socket is installed in the center console, and an additional USB charging socket is installed in the trunk. The Prestige is visually distinguished by projector-type LED headlights, LED fog lights and taillights, 18-inch wheels (235/60R18 tires), chrome grille and rear roof pillars. In this configuration, the crossvan is equipped with a Smart Key keyless entry system (with starting and stopping the engine using a button), electric sliding side doors and a tailgate with an intelligent opening system. The power side doors can be controlled remotely, and the SEA Safe Exit System has the functions of not only alerting, but also locking the rear doors. In the trunk there is a net for attaching things, for passengers of the second and third rows, sun blinds are installed on the windows.
